Forward-loaded combat
Charges, feints, interrupts and stagger. No autoattack by design — every hit is a decision, re-checked for range and line of sight at the moment it resolves.
An isometric MMORPG, built from nothing
Long before the outpost, a winged host warded this land with aether-light. They fell. Their beautiful, holy work now surfaces as loot — divine ornament, soot-blackened, the gold tarnished, the halos broken.
The premise
Every weapon and vestment in Valdrys is a shard of lost glory: ornate, angelic craft half-eaten by rust and blight. The same object at two points in time — that is the whole hook, and you can read it on a 32-pixel icon.
The calamity that felled the host scarred the moor and birthed the grimspawn that hunt it now. You arrive a thousand years late, digging through what is left.
Gameplay
Everything listed here is built and playable today. Nothing on this page is a roadmap.
Charges, feints, interrupts and stagger. No autoattack by design — every hit is a decision, re-checked for range and line of sight at the moment it resolves.
Rarity, affixes, upgrade levels, sockets and set bonuses. Two of the same sword are not the same sword.
Enhance, socket and drill your gear through a banded stone economy — entirely server-authoritative, with a Forging skill that climbs as you work.
Woodcutting, Mining and Herbalism, with tool tiers to climb and nodes that make the open world worth crossing on foot.
Ranks, roster, MOTD, guild chat and a rank-gated guild bank. Cross-zone presence, so your friends list knows where everyone is.
Seasons, a live ladder, match history and spectating from the stands — with a ready check so nobody gets dragged in mid-sentence.
Key-gated private runs from a pool of live worlds, with set-piece encounters, telegraphed boss mechanics and enrage timers.
Vendors, an auction house with search and fees, atomic multi-item trading, and a vault that doubles as the game's main money sink.
Clients send intents, never outcomes. Every result is decided by the server, which is also the entire anti-cheat story — load-tested to 400 concurrent players.
Classes
Your class is permanent, and it decides how you fight: its own abilities, stat curve and starting weapon. From level five you pick one of two modifications to an ability every five levels, so no two are alike.
Glass-cannon caster: frost, fire, and arcane bursts.
Ranged hunter: marks, multishot, and mobility.
Holy tank: shields, sustain, and consecrated steel.
Druid: heal-over-time, roots, and nature's wrath.
Priest: mighty heals, shields, and holy light.
Assassin: stealth openers, poison, and burst. Announced, and honestly not finished — so you cannot pick it yet.
The world
One continent — the Thornreach — with the Caravanserai at its centre and everything else arranged outward by how much it wants you dead. Waypoints unlock as you find them; stand on one and click anywhere you have already been.
Open PvP, and you drop what you carry. Locked items drop too — that is deliberate, and the gate warns you before you step through. The best gathering nodes are on the other side of it.
Media
Captured in-engine. No bullshots.
Latest
Valdrys is now the name on the door. The client connects to play.valdrys.com and verifies the server's certificate instead of merely encrypting the wire — so nobody can answer for the realm but the realm.
A swarm of real clients — full handshake, full protocol — joined a single zone to find where the tick actually breaks. It held. The bottleneck turned out to be broadcasting the world, not simulating it.
Named bosses now wander the full-loot frontier with contributor loot, so the kill pays everyone who fought it. They stay off the minimap; you find them the hard way.
Play
Valdrys is in active development and played by a handful of people most evenings. There is no launcher, no account to create on a website, and nothing to pay.
